The inspiration behind Dame de Pique comes from an old local legend, the Queen of Spades, who haunts the blackthorn woods where the family harvests. This legend strongly influences the overall design and graphic chart, with black, red, and white colors dominating the branding. Additionally, the world of poker serves as another source of inspiration, creating a unique atmosphere that guides all graphic illustrations and branded products.
What makes Dame de Pique truly stand out is its fusion of design and tradition. Romuald Vincent's vision is to restore an old French specialty, and the packaging reflects this commitment. The bottle size is carefully chosen to appeal to the target audience, offering flexibility and lightness. The packaging design aims to create desire, making it an ideal choice for both personal consumption and gifting. The brand's message is clear: it's not about excessive drinking, but about enjoying the moment responsibly and with moderation.
The realization of the Dame de Pique packaging involves printed aluminum bottles with a food-grade inner coating, complemented by offset-printed cardboard packaging. This combination of materials ensures both aesthetic appeal and functionality.
The technical specifications of the packaging include a bottle size of 53x167mm and a cardboard tripack measuring 582mm x 212mm when unfolded. These dimensions are carefully chosen to provide an optimal presentation and gifting experience.
The interaction with the Dame de Pique packaging is seamless. The tripack serves both as a presentation and gift pack, borrowing familiar features from beer packaging while maintaining a premium look. The cardboard is designed to be easily assembled without the need for glue, and a tear opening tab allows quick access to the bottles.
The design process for Dame de Pique started in April 2015 and concluded in December of the same year. It involved extensive research into existing products on the market, competition analysis, and the exploration of available raw materials and production processes. The final design was chosen after weeks of development and feedback from manufacturers, ensuring a balance between innovation and technical feasibility.
One of the main challenges faced during the design process was reconciling the design of the bottle with the constraints of the wine production itself. Romuald Vincent, being both the designer and liquorist, took on this challenge to maintain a cohesive vision throughout the production. This decision allowed for greater reactivity to problems encountered and streamlined the production process.
Dame de Pique holds the copyright for its unique design, symbolized by the ©Dame de Pique mark. The brand's dedication to excellence and innovation has been recognized with the prestigious Iron A' Design Award in 2017. This award celebrates well-designed, practical, and innovative creations that meet professional and industrial requirements, contributing to a better world.
Dame de Pique is not just a bottle packaging design; it is a symbol of elegance, tradition, and responsible enjoyment. With its captivating design and commitment to quality, this brand is sure to leave a lasting impression on anyone who encounters it.
